Rudy Too paused halfway across the pod and turned around with a sigh. “I'm goin' out to look for Angel. She’s in trouble, and you just wanna sit around!”
"I don't want to sit around," Rudy One said, pushing himself up off the bed and gesturing toward the door, indicating out there. "But there's a bloody psychopath goin' around tearin' bits out of people’s heads! Have you noticed what happens when we get involved in this shit, man? And it’s just us!" The same hand got waved between their chests. "We don’t have Curtis or any of them!”
"What about that guy Rick?" Rudy Too countered. "And Steve!"
"They can handle it. They know what they're doin'." Rudy One leaned in, driving the point home. "You're not a superhero, mate. You're just — other than the fact you've come out of me, you're just a normal, sad bastard. You'd slow em down. And, anyway, hey, listen..." He straightened up, and placed a comforting hand on Too's shoulder. "She is probably dead."
Too stared, for a second, before jostling Rudy One's hand off, turning back to the door with a shake of his head. "Unbelievable."
"Oh, don't —" The door to the pod slammed, and Rudy One's half-hearted attempt at reaching out ended with his hand clenching into a fist. "Fuck."
